This house in Taos is a World Heritage Site which was built a little over 1,000 years ago. New Mexico was a favorite settling place of the pueblo peoples and the Tiwa people chose the northern mountains to effectively stave off drought, they have been fortunate enough to have water even during dry times.
Southwest pueblo tribes come from ancient Mongolian ancestry and have always enjoyed a cooperative communal lifestyle. The people of the pueblo have always supported each other and there was friendly trade among the pueblos scattered around the land. The longevity of the pueblos shows that this choice has served them well, as they are the oldest examples of communities in North America. An impressive people for certain.

Often neither standard photography nor brushed canvas painting Jim Buchanan's images are a fusion of digital, computer chip, camera lens captures uploaded into modern computerized GPU photo processing and digital processing with tablet.
